HOW PRO STICKERS FIGHT FIRE
The combustion reaction can only occur when three essential elements are brought together: a fuel, an oxidizer and an activating energy. We refer to this conjunction as the fire triangle.
The fuel or reducing reagent can take different forms:
- a gas (butane, propane, natural gas, hydrogen, etc.),
- a liquid (petrol, diesel, oil, kerosene, etc.),
- a solid (wood, paper, cardboard, textile, plastic, etc.)
The oxidizer is the other reactant in the chemical reaction. In most cases, this is the ambient air, and more specifically one of its major components, dioxygen. Depriving a fire of air causes it to go out; for example, placing a burning candle in an airtight jar extinguishes the flame. Conversely, blowing on a wood fire activates it (by bringing in more air). Some flashlights use pure oxygen to enhance combustion.
The reaction is initiated by an activation energy. Heat production enables this reaction to be self-sustaining in most situations.
The activation energy is the fire’s trigger. It’s usually heat. For example, a rubbed match, a heated electric cable or other flame (fire spread), a spark(electrical appliance on or off). Other forms of energy, such as electricity, radiation or pressure, can also provide this activation energy, always raising the temperature.

The aerosol fire extinguishing device is composed of a shell, an ignition device and an aerosol agent. The main extinguishing substances are strontium nitrate and potassium nitrate, a formula used for 25 years. STICKER PRO devices are activated by thermal start from 160°C. The potassium compound neutralizes hydrogen, oxygen and hydroxide radicals in the fire triangle. The solid, gas-dispersed extinguishing agent forms an aerosol that is much more effective than conventional ABC powder. The gaseous extinguishing agent is released for 3 to 5 seconds, neutralizes any flame and leaves no residue.
Potassium-based AEROSOL, HIS STORY
The aerosol contained in Sticker Pro comes from former Soviet military technology of the 60s and 70s. Leading companies in the USA, Italy, the Netherlands, Cyprus and Malaysia have been using it since 1990. Potassium-based aerosol is increasingly recognized and appreciated as an environmentally-friendly alternative to halon gas.
In the early 2000s, a new combination of strontium nitrate as the main oxidizer and potassium nitrate as an auxiliary oxidizer was used in the aerosol generator formula. This formula eliminates side-effects on electronic equipment while ensuring fire-extinguishing capability.
